Character development maybe? Bubbles may have become more willing to make gestures at blending in with her smaller and squishier fellow citizens. Tossing on a coat could make her less intimidating.

Well the fact that she's willing to go out among other people is something. When she and Faye met, she was in hermit mode, rarely if ever leaving the robot arena. And the last time we saw her going out and meeting Faye's friends didn't exactly go all that well.

DSL:
She will develop an interest in Mr. Burny, who will reciprocate. Dora and Emily will fight over who gets to be the flower girl.
