War Sparrow:
It probably depends on location, too. Body modification is not common where I am now, and I had to dig around to find a decent piercing place with any selection of jewelry. Whereas before, there was a tattoo/piercing parlour in every mall. And the hairdressers are always nervous when I go in for a haircut, because women don't tend to have short hair here unless they are going for an androgynous look.

So maybe not boring, just more fashion conservative.

Kugai:
The question is, is there a reason her hairstyle is now closer to Bubbles one.

:-D

OK, Evil Kugai moment over

Akima:
In Sydney, and probably other large cities, it goes by neighbourhood. Body mods beyond "conventional" ear-piercing, and their associated insfrastructure, are pretty routine in some districts, while in others, only a few kilometres away, you see mods much less often, and there's not a tattoo parlour to be seen. The same tends to apply to hairstyles that are more... cutting edge.

I was a bit surprised to find that I couldn't find a special term for the relationship Jeph was discussing, even in the insanely complex system of Chinese relationship titles.

Perfectly Reasonable:
Panel 5 is the industrial machine tool AI. (Weighs two tons, bolted to the floor. Dr Faye makes house calls.)

And the time lapse says that Faye has kept her act together for a good while. Way to go, gal!

CaptainFish:
I like Faye's look in the last panel! I'll miss the rectangular glasses, though.
