I just got into it and boy it's fun! I'm not to the point of going after any of the five or so Ty Cobbs that someone just found in their attics or anything, mostly just enjoying picking up packs whenever the local Rite Aid remembers to stock them and seeing what I get.

...

(gets up)

(goes over to closet behind him in office)

(counts 23 boxes of various sizes, loaded with cards)

(and at least five, six binders of cards)

(plus two plastic containers, one under my monitor, one behind me on boxes)

(and what's this? One of those binders has... a 1949 Jerry Priddy Bowman Gum card, a 1951 Topps Redback of Tommy Glaviano, a 1956 Topps Warren Spahn...)

(flip flip flip flip flip)

(1982 Fleer Cal Ripken Jr., 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr...)

(clicks around... hmm, haven't updated that since 2010... but I know that I have...)

Oh, wait, what was the question?

Oh, uh, yeah, well, maybe a little. I mean, I only have at least one card from each of Topps' regular baseball releases since 1953. And about... oh, 38,000 total, at least. Along with my other sports cards (which is more numerous, since I'm a hockey fan), that makes... roughly 53,000 cards total.

So, yeah.

UniqueNewYork:
Getting a vintage pack that includes gum is simultaneously the best and worst thing. I totally haven't tried to chew that gum at all. Nossir. Not once.

jwhouk:
Don't do it. Seriously, just... Don't.

UniqueNewYork:
(I totally have, who are we fucking kidding here)
