I don't why but after reading today's strip all I could think of was Yelling Bird.

Alice Grove chapter 4 ends!

Okay, as I'm the first to comment, I'm going to put my thoughts in spoilers:

(click to show/hide)1) As several readers have predicted, Gavia has been left changed. Her smock is gone and I supsect that means all her nanomachines have been extracted. Someone is in for a bitter and horrible learning curve in Chapter 5, I suspect;

2) The Night Walker is gone! My guess? It's mission has been completed at last so it could shut down and allow its nanomachines to disperse into non-functioning decay. What could its mission have been?

3) There is a big-ass fresh crater on the Moon, glowing red with heat. It must be the result of the Night Walker's laser blast. My guess? There was something on the Moon which the Night Walker had been tasked with destroying when it was created. It's waited all this time to build up enough power (number of nanomachines?) to do so. Gavia's nanomachines seem to have been the tipping point.
So, where from here? Back to spoilers:

(click to show/hide)I suspect that the Night Walker has blown up a hidden moon-base, possibly the place where the sentient AIs were hiding. With them gone, there is now nothing to stop the bio-tech and synthetic-tech factions from restarting the Great War. Something tells me that things are going to get seriously Babylon 5 very, very quickly.
A great chapter ending, Jeph! We'll be on tenterhooks waiting for the next instalment!

A lovely final picture of the chapter too!

(click to show/hide)Is it a crater, or it it something (really big) signalling/firing back?
