Kugai:
And on the conversational topic

I clear out my Texts usually once a week.  No point in hanging on to them beyond that if there's notthing you need to 'Call Back' on.

Anyone who steals my phone will have to be able to crack the crypto first.  Additionally, I treat any form of communication w/o end-to-end encryption to be about as private as a postcard.

Delurking again...

I'm kinda surprised people delete their texts. I keep them on the phone, mostly because I see no point in bothering to delete them, but I also *like* to have a history of conversations with a person. Most texts are inconsequential, but I still sometimes return to an older exchange, if nothing else - to remember when it occurred or to check a certain detail.

Granted, I'm the guy who, at the time I was a frequent IRC user, would keep the log of every single conversation I had. I just *like* to keep a record of my communication. Pretty much the only thing I delete are spam e-mails, but I tend to keep the regular ones.

Honestly, I don't see any benefit from deleting an older message...

Maybe it's that I didn't start texting until a few years ago (like, three, maybe?).  Maybe it's that I *still* don't text much.  Both of those lead to I have never had problems with storage capacity.

I didn't even know I *could* delete old texts until this conversation.

Over on the Subreddit, someone has suggested that Barlady's name will be Irene 'Ira' Browse. Her mother's name was Mona Browse.

:-D
