WCDT Strips 3421-3425 (20th to 24th February 2017)
Thrudd:
If you liken the story as an adventurous hike through familiar yet scenic terrain then this was at worst a misstep [pebble?] as opposed to stepping in something nasty [recoverable but will stink for a while] or off a cliff [not so recoverable without triage and much flailing about].
I don't think QC has ever suffered the former except by design and the latter is more of a thing from (click to show/hide)[The guy who eats diapers]
jwhouk:
That is exactly the reason why I no longer read any strips from (click to show/hide)The Guy Who Eats Diapers.

Okay, he's anthropomorphizing succulents, but since that could have worked without changing the name, I'm really struggling to figure out what else the joke is here. Is it just that 'Spotted puculents' sounds funny? Or...?

Look below the main strip at Jeph's sketch on the Pokémon species he'd created - Spotted Pucculent. I think that, as he was writing the script, he randomly thought: "Spotted Pucculent; yeah that sounds like some kind of weird exotic animal". Once that idea got into his head, he literally couldn't stop himself running with it. I've had that happen to me once or twice whilst writing. The problem is that these things that make you chuckle to yourself are rarely as funny to everyone else as they are to you. :-\
By the way - All will be forgiven if Jeph writes a sub-arc about Marten and Claire trying (and failing) to find something to serve as a house-warming gift for Bubbles. That would be classic QC humour.

Either it didn't load on my phone, or that wasn't there when I first read the comic.
I still don't get why 'Spotted Pucculent' is funny, but at least it makes slightly more sense now.

What did (click to show/hide)[The guy who eats diapers.] do? I mean, yes, he's had some mediocre story arcs, but I don't think any of them (at least, any of them in Dumbing of Age, his older stuff is very hit-and-miss,) have been as bad or pointless as the Creepybot arc.

I am confused and not risking that Google.

If you are referring to the what Thrudd and jwhouk have hidden under a spoiler tag it's a webcomic that Jeph Jacques has a link to. You don't need to google it.
