BenRG:
Bubbles has learned an important survival lesson about the apartment today: When Pintsize does something weird (which is more often than not), don't mention it and certainly don't try to engage with him. Just shake your head and walk away. Seriously, your day will be better for it.
Now... Is Pintsize... jealous here? Is Jeph drawing a parallel with yesterday's strip? Or is this another one of those times when Pintsize uses his random behaviour to try to help someone? After all, it is arguable that Bubbles is overcompensating but there's no-way to tell her this without offending her. If, instead, you mention it whilst doing something weird, it gets into her brain without having to say it in the context you intended!
Yes, I'm a believer in Pintsize being a hidden psychological genius as well as being serious about his contract duty to help his apartment-mates.
JoeCovenant:
I'm wondering if this is a lead up to Bubbles shedding the armour...
I dunno how I feel about that!
(Does she look like she's been drawn a little... squat... today?)
Akima:
Definitely rounder, I think. Combined with yesterday's Tai, I think there's another art-style change a-coming.
Is Pintsize encouraging Bubbles to think outside the box?
BenRG:
Outside of her box (armour) certainly.
It's an interesting way of doing it on Pintsize's part. He's using self-mockery here - making himself look stupid to make Bubbles think seriously about whether she is clinging to a psychological security blanket that is only harming her self-image and making her seem more threatening (something she fears). She'd never listen if he had broached the subject directly but this way? This way will at least leave the thought in her mind for her to consider at a later date.

Or alternatively just being plain creepy...
