Can't answer those direct questions, but I have noticed that Bubbles' hair has been a decent reflection of her emotional state. At the beginning, it was a straight flat helmet (reflecting her initial very guarded attitude). After the party debacle and the subsequent rapprochement with Faye, Bubbles hair showed a bit of variation at the edges. Eventually as Bubbles opened up to Faye, the hair became a softer organic shape. Now that Bubbles is at loose ends and hanging with Pintsize, her hair is downright bedraggled, at least by Bubbles standards.

Possibly her 'hair' is in fact fiber optic material and serves both as decoration AND a sophisticated sensor net.  :-P

Certainly not what I'm used to seeing..
