I've occasionally heard it in different parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri; so it's a Midlands and Greater Appalachia sort of thing as well.

It is/was also a type of candy, chocolate-covered peanuts, sold by the folks who make Raisinettes.  I haven't seen them in stores lately though, they may have fallen victim to the sudden increase in people violently allergic to peanuts.
