Oh yes...
The expression on her face in Panel 2 betrays exactly why what happened, for the rest of the strip, happened!
Still... "Nooice!" :)

I find it ironic that someone built like Renee is commenting on someone elses body, especially what they could do to improve it

Agreed.

I suggest you scroll up and read the thread further to see how okay this forum is with comments like the one made by Chris, which he has now withdrawn and apologised for.
I also suggest you don't say anything on this forum along the lines of the comment you are agreeing with.

I stated my agreement with him because I thought the reaction to his comment was unfair. Obviously some people disagree, which is their right. I generally just respond rather than make comments because of such reactions. Though I do understand it is your job to keep the peace, which is appreciated :)

Nope, me too. I was all "Wait, what!? Ms. Flex is Tai?"

Me three.

Not so ironic if you actually think about it a bit.
Most critics, auditors, inspectors, editors, etc., whose job is it to look at and review the works of others do that as part of their jobs.
I know a couple of people who are master taste testers yet they can neither roast beans to perfection or age spirits to mellow ambrosia.
They know what they are looking at and can appreciate the subtleties and details of the subject even if they themselves can not achieve such on their own.
Even teaching involves knowing enough about the subject to see and point out errors or misconceptions on the part of the students as they learn yet doesn't require the talent to create.
Artwork, which there is a lot of online, from the professional to the aspiring amateur, gets criticized / complemented by pretty much anyone who sees it.
Yet there is no hue and cry that a non-artist liked something by Boris even though the sight lines are all over the place and the subjects wouldn't last 30 seconds in a real battle with the beasts as depicted, dressed they way they are.
See, I just critiqued an aspect of the art itself and the subject matter yet I do not paint or wear fantasy armor and yet I have the gall to make an informed critique on the subject matter. :-D

Thrudd, you have brought up a point that I did not consider at all. Though I do think that the best critics and teachers are ones who are skilled in and have a deep understanding/practice of the subject.
All that said, I think it is just one more subtle way in which Renee shows how much of a hypocrite she is. One of the first times we get to know her, she is calling Marten and Steve out on how much they suck at romantic interactions. It's pretty clear now how much she also sucks at them.
We see her acting like she has her shit together so much more than Brun but she is only more stable right now because Brun lost her home and job simultaneously in a fire. Brun has shown initiative in her applications and seems more socially adapted than Renee. She understands why Renee shouldn't have teased Elliot and she judged Clinton's character pretty well. In fact, everybody seems to like her. So what her personality is a little odd? She is well adjusted.
The fact that she makes a back-handed compliment of Elliot's body is just another example. Elliot is clearly in great shape - evident not just by looks but his skills and stories as a bouncer. Meanwhile, Renee doesn't appear to be in good shape.
