With the original illustrations. Thackeray drew his own illustrations, so they are PART OF THE BOOK! but no modern publisher will include them. I've been trying for years to find such an edition.

My copy has a simple red cover, the date I got is from the letter that also serves as the forward, as no date is shown on either side of the title page.
Perfectly Reasonable:
'Tacit' meaning an agreement that goes without saying. So they're both promising to always wear pants?
