Interesting... I guess I have encountered them after all.

--- Quote from: Roadie on 18 Apr 2018, 23:33 ---The captcha system would probably have to be changed, anyway. Those "I am not a robot" checkboxes work by measuring the pattern and time your mouse cursor takes to click the box, or the pattern of resize/move/touch events on a phone. That kind of thing wouldn't work for an AI unless they're literally running a virtual machine with some kind of "phantom limb" interface for the mouse/keyboard in it.

--- End quote ---

Well, I think disembodied AIs wouldn't need to use User Interfaces at all, so they could just authenticate using signed certificates or the in-universe equivalent to that and browse the information directly (interpreting databases or web services responses). As for androids (a.k.a AIs with bodies) they could use both UI and Certificate methods. CAPTCHAs would just be used to prevent dumb spambots and it would probably be illegal for an AI to be an actual spambot, so there's robot jail for that

gprimr1:
A lot of Captchas now measure the movement of your mouse. Computers move in straight lines, humans make more erratic movements.

I would imagine with AI sentience, it's easier for them to do this as well.

I don’t think she was taking exception, just annoyed that Dale was being facetious and missing her point.

I will never be able to look at the phrase “emotionless robots” the same way again.
