Something like this, perhaps?

brasca:
Yes that’s the chap.

BenRG:
Yes, Melon has rumbled the dirty little secret ('dirty' secret based on her facial expression in panel 2) to identifying what is the location you're about to enter! I'm sure that Arthur will be most impressed with her achievement!

I have the feeling that the great chemical difference between tea and drain cleaner will mean that Melon is in for a very, very bad trip. I've got the feeling that she's going to hallucinate a horrible Cthonic monstrosity and then complain to Emily that she "didn't want to have to explain again to Charlie why I dumped him!" or something similarly other-worldly.

--- Quote from: DaiJB on 24 Apr 2018, 22:01 ---It looks almost like Melon was activated (woken, brought on-line, made conscious, however you want to describe it...) with absolutely no background knowledge of the world into which she was being unleashed. In other words, a complete innocent, bumbling through a world full of hazards - it's a wonder that (so far) she's only lost her butt!
--- End quote ---

I think that it's more the case that she makes absolutely no assumptions about anything. Just because apartments have numbers on the main door doesn't mean that it is the apartment's number. Just because there are names painted on the outside of shops doesn't mean that this is the name of the shop. She is having to verify that empirically on a case-by-case basis and I don't think she believes that it is a universal rule!

Melon , to me, is a bit like Newman (from Seinfeld) in that in small doses shes amusing but can become a bit meh if used too often

--- Quote from: Gyrre on 22 Apr 2018, 07:51 ---What if you had a party entirely consisting of bards and/or bard multi-classes (i.e. bard-barian)?

--- End quote ---

I'm so tempted to suggest this to one of my RPG groups. An entire party of Bards, and we'd call ourselves the Tenacious Defenders.

"We have the power... to MOVE you..."

--- End quote ---

In a LARP I do (Disclosure.. haven't been for a couple of years) Bards have some of the most powerful magic in the system.
If you are going up against a high level Bard, you'd best pray he has no immunity to "Silence"... which, of course, is never the case.

 :-D

--- End quote ---

In my LARP  experience, a Bard's greatest power is fast-talking a newb about how exactly the rules work. ( http://amtwiki.net/amtwiki/index.php/Reeve )
Reeve: "So, uh... Why are you just walking around the game area?"
Me: "I was compelled to walk around the field 100 times!"
Reeve:"... It was [BARD], right? the ACTUAL effect is you have to count to 100 while completing the task. Get back to the game. "
