She certainly seems female to me. What gives you the idea she isn't?

May was using neutral pronouns

Cornelius:
Well, she's talking about a cop, and hasn't specified Roko. Roko is not exactly part of the circle (yet).

With the risk of reopening the pronoun discussion - though there's a better thread for that than this one - they/them has been used to refer to person/persons unspecified for much longer than that it's been used as a specific gender marker.

BenRG:
There are lots of cute things in today's strip. The first is, of course, that Bubbles clearly finds the chemical-free acid trips that are human dreams endlessly fascinating, especially as Faye's are clearly intense enough that she reacts to them in her sleep. Bubbles clearly considers it adorable but one wonders if it makes her worry that she will never understand how the human mind works!

Then there's Faye's reaction to Bubbles being there: In her dazed and semi-conscious state, she wants and needs that primal comfort from her girlfriend. There is a lot of trust there and it is clear that Bubbles has gone deep into her heart.

Finally, and I know this is probably me but am I the only one who thinks it is appropriate that a former infantry robot sleeps commando?

Get out. 😝

We do not know about previous shenanigans, I like to give them the benefit of doubt here.

Carl-E:
Having someone watch you sleep - even a loved one - has always felt a bit creepy to me.

The fact that Bubbles may not need to sleep at all could go either way.  Max creepiness from her always watching, or max security from her always watching...out for Faye.
