--- Quote from: MrGone on 18 Apr 2019, 19:28 ---This comic's doing me a concern. Jeph is a big Azumanga fan and this is starting to REALLY feel like it's gearing up for the same sort of "everyone drifts off to the next part of their lives" ending...

--- End quote ---
That's been said before, a long way back. Then we had a.bunch of new characters and adventures.

BenRG:
This is another sweet Claire character strip. Maybe it's me but I think that Claire has a deep-rooted fear of rejection (possibly associated with her father walking out on the family). A part of her really was expecting bad news from Marten, as silly as that seems from a third-person perspective. Marten is being wise, though, not promising in advance. He doesn't really know what the day will hold but he's telling Claire that he isn't just going to run the moment things get tough.

Meanwhile, Claire sort of want to know why Marten didn't give her the shipping update first!

--- Quote from: Castlerook on 18 Apr 2019, 20:36 ---Okay, its 3 weeks until comic 4000.
We've had a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings from the comics for the last few weeks.
We haven't had a lot of "drama" lately.
Anyone else feel like we're being lined up for something absolutely horrifying?
--- End quote ---

Not horrifying, no; as others said, that isn't his writing style anymore. However, he could decide to give us something game-changing. Twenty strips is enough time to set up or remind us of an ongoing plot or character issue and then have it come to a head in Strip 4000.

cybersmurf:
But what if both Tai and Claire find new jobs in Canada, Dora and Marten come with them, and Faye and Bubbles follow suit? Reboot somewhere else.

With regards to the next phase of QC, I have a feeling it won't be much longer until Hanners re-appears (permanently I mean). Plus Winslow, obviously..

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Hanners bought up Coffee of Doom, should Dora ever leave.
