BenRG:
Actually the only loosely-defined Kaiju film I've ever liked is the 1998 Godzilla. Furthermore, I'm advised that it is different enough from the mainstream Kaiju genre to not count at all.
TheEvilDog:
Excuse me, but no Reptilicus? Or Gorgo?
For shame Gyrre, for shame. Hand in your kaiju badge, you're no longer allowed in the club.

...and yet Mothra didn't make the cut?

Is Mothra a separate franchise to Godzilla?

I did say it was a long list and that I'm lazy.
The giant bug genre counts as kaiju according to the wiki page, so I'd have to include Them! and The Fly if I went by the list. Hell, I didn't include the Japanese live-action Spider series. And that's the origin of sentai series (which I'm going to now add). Generally, I just included franchises that had a series of movies, episodes, or games (or some combination thereof).
EDIT: Frankenstein Conquers The World has a direct sequel titled The War of the Gargantuas, which itself spawned two companion piece movies.
TheEvilDog:
Sir, you may make excuses, but you must still hand in your kaiju badge! And your novelty Godzilla hat! You are banished from the Kaiju Club! For a period of no more than three weeks.
And Mothra is a member of the Toho stable of Kaiju, second only to Godzilla for the number of films she has appeared in (17 films since 1961).

The list includes the Kool-Aid Man. I think that's the best thing I've seen in a while. :D
