I know this is boring, but maybe there just happens to be 2049 of them, a perfectly unremarkable number that requires no special explanation whatsoever.  :roll:

Melon can grasp the concept of reading signs, but apparently not numbers. Maybe she has a problem understanding numbers. It might be a form of dyscalculia. And maybe it runs in AI families. There may not be 2048 of them at all. It may be that it just sounded like an appropriately large number to someone who doesn't really "get" numbers.

Being a power of 2, it may also be an AI goto number for arbitrary largeness. Lemon saying she has 2048 sisters could have been like a human saying "I have, like, a million cousins"; not a literal million, just arbitrarily large.

Or maybe they just have a problem counting sisters.
