I went to reply to this, got called away from my desk, and came back to find 20, 000,000 additions!
I think I can gleefully say I called this one.
Didn't think May and Sven would be a one-off.
Also think Sven may offer to get May a new body.
But this could open a very interesting avenue for personal/relationship trauma as May would then be in a body her lover helped her choose...
What if they broke up acrimoniously? What if May's mild paranoia leads to a "He only wants to be with me because he bought the perfect body for him"? Etc etc... Could also go totally the opposite way, of course.
Sven might not offer to buy one and May get's one through Roko... But Sven could actually be attached to May's crappy old body! And find it hard to adjust to New May...
Probably overthinking it, (No, really??) but as said above.. there are a LOT of ways this could play out.

It's worth noting that Jeph is generally averse to unhappy endings for main characters although, in the case of Marten, Dora and Faye, it took about 3000 strips to get there in all their cases.

If a processor swap is as simple as it was for the one fighter when CW was demonstrating to Faye that the AIs processors aren't damaged (3008), why couldn't May keep her current body (or one Roko procures for her) for daily work and then swap into Sven's dream machine for when they're playing together? Sven could even keep it at his place so no one needs to know besides May that it's even being used? :roll:
