Just a thought - what if all the people who listened to (and hated) Sven's song, were the same people who bought his usual songs? I mean, what we're talking about here, are people with the sort of taste in music that appreciates Sven's usual highly successful trash   :-P

In other words, maybe it could be a potential hit with a discerning audience whose taste isn't just in their mouths?

FWIW, I think that is precisely what happened but Sven's self-esteem is pretty rocky in the end and I think it would be very difficult to convince him of that...

Unless his sister's ex-boyfriend wants to talk up his more experimental stuff on his music/pop culture blog, maybe?

She will, one day, realise, it's never going to be any better. And since they're siblings, teasing is the best thing to do. She'll learn when he's being sincere and when it's OK to crack a joke at his misfortune.
