I thought it was mutual?
(And the basis of the whole "will they - won't they" in the early days?)

I think that there's a degree of 'in the eye of the beholder' in that particular element of this.

You could interpret Faye's behaviour as teasing but that she never let things get too far because, in the end, she knew that The Talk would have to happen sooner or later (and she wanted it to happen later). Not necessarily a praiseworthy or mature action. However, one that would have been very human on her part. Personally, I agree with you but I'm not the guy making the relationship web, am I? :-P

For me, I think that the chart needs more work done in terms of Emily. "Weird but genuine friend' between Claire and Emily and between Marten and Emily. Emily is friends with everyone, I think; however, the reciprocal isn't always true but I think it is particularly notable in these cases.

I think some quite important relationships are left out simply to prevent the chart becoming too messed up with crossing lines.  This leaves some people apparently isolated.  For instance, where is the "band" relationship between Marten, Amir and Hanners?

Thrudd:
This will need to be updated to a 3D rendered molecular model if you want everything all in one place.
It would be a cool VR visualization but a whole lot of work and limited audience.

More practically a series of  relationship overlays for the characters.
Base layer - characters - this will be the greatest logistics challenge
Toggled overlays - colour keyed arrows to class of relationship

I remember doing something like this in autocad eons ago and a friend converted that onto Flash (ugh) to make it usable to everyone without an autocad file display app.

Plus a line from Sam to Faye labelled Mentor/Idol or something to that affect. Hard to fit into it in a flat chart without crossing over or looping around a bunch.

That could be an icon like the locations. Affiliation?
