--- Quote from: awkwardness on 17 Feb 2021, 21:29 ---Has it been determined that AIs can remove limbs for work duties? I can see them doing that with an arm for a leafblower, broom, or rake easily. Maybe doing so with legs when on a riding mower or acting as a chauffeur(think "Johnny Cab" in Total Recall).

--- Quote from: Farideh on 17 Feb 2021, 18:46 ---One of these days Willow is going to forcibly make friends with the wrong person, and get into a boatload (canoeload?) of trouble.

--- End quote ---

...and she accidentally foils a carefully planned jewelry store heist by telling her friends why she's unavailable that day ;)

This is actually an interaction that I'd love to see. He hasn't had an interaciton with a polar opposite in years. I don't count Rokko as being a polar opposite as they were only together for a date and we all know how that turned out...

[arm cannon joke here]

And I for one, don't want to potentially spoil whatever Jeph has planned.

[I sometimes fear I may have done so in the past. RIP any story threads I accidentally nuked.]

--- End quote ---

Surely not? I distinctly remember, when Jeph came to Australia waaaay back in 2012 (fun fact: that's where my avatar comes from!), someone asked him if Hannelore would ever actually go to space, and he drew considerable awe from the crowd when he revealed that actually, that was about to be the very next story arc. And indeed it was.

So I wouldn't imagine that you're nuking any story arcs by pre-empting them.

I hope not.

--- Quote from: Gyrre on 17 Feb 2021, 05:44 ---Just don't be one of those people who also complains about missing winter in summer.

--- End quote ---

I miss winter when it's summer, since I don't handle the heat well. As long as the temperature doesn't get above 24 °C, I'm fine.

Then again, summer here in NZ is drawing to a close, and it has been flippin' cold in Canterbury. We've had the heating on more than once.

--- End quote ---

We've been getting quite the opposite end of things for the past two weeks here, in Kansas. I know it's our winter to your summer, but it's been ridiculous these past few weeks.

The polar vortex/cold wave/whatever it's being called now came with windchills as low as -36°C (-32°F). This Monday's high was -18°C (-2°F).

EDIT: bolding for emphasis

jwhouk:
Remember kids: when the temperature says -40, it’s freaking cold regardless of the scale.

...I guess I shouldn't tell you that it actually got up to 47.8C (118F) at the end of July last year, then, hey?

--- End quote ---

How do we know Joan of Arc was from Arizona?

Because she said "But it's a dry heat".

--- End quote ---

wow, a Joan of Arc joke. *slow clap*

Perfectly Reasonable:
"Not nice"? OK. How about "Harmless"?
