I'm not sure if Jeph could more clearly signal about the content for the following few weeks. What he's saying is that: Self-sabotage is on the way. Mistakes are going to be made. Hilarity will ensue. Hard lessons will be learned.

If I also may add, at the very least, Marigold and Clinton are going to wonder how having a beer with a new friend can be interpreted as being an 'OTP'. However, they may rightly wish to blame over-exposure to cheap romcoms and shounen animé for a romantic mind. Also, in Elliot's case, a reflexive expectation that things will go wrong that possibly indicates therapy is required.

I think it's more likely that what's coming is one of QC's classic anxiety-defusing friend conversations, which are a favorite part of the comic for me. Especially if it involves more cuteness from Elliot's thoughts!  :-D
