Definitely. Whether it's intentional or just a consequence of Jeph's drawing style evolution over time, there is a noticeable change. I remember her having expression marks close to her upper lips. Maybe Cosmo and streaming did her good.

Dogs are famously flexible in their affections, but have we ever seen anything in the strip or in real life where a dog made friends with someone who smelled like plastic?

A quick look at the Wiki reminded me that Cosmo wandered in from the street. A week passed without the original owner appearing to claim her. Yay claims to have dog sensing abilities. So Yay is not Cosmo's original owner.

Yes, this tells us that Yay's instances retain individuality while sharing basics. What puzzles me is why Yay is having this debate audibly. And loudly.

Perhaps they're also unintentionally auditioning for a really monologue-y part in a Shakespeare play as well?

But notice that Cosmo is wagging enthusiastically: I suspect Cosmo knows Yay from prior experience.  I expect this to end badly, especially if another instance of Yay appears.

I think Cosmo is just very affectionate by nature, like how she literally jumped straight into Elliot's arms the moment he walked into the door.
