BenRG:
If you're looking for someone more experienced to verify if you are handling a new relationship in the right way, this strip teaches two important lessons:

* Every relationship is unique and the likelihood is that you and them don't have that many common experiences
* They're probably making it up as they go along too.

... that it was a truly awful great pun?

Hey now, that was a pretty good nerd pun.

BenRG:
Hinted at possible character development:

Claire is going to work out that the temperature gradients she's working in is not conducive to wearing her glasses so she's going to wear her contacts from now on (yes, she has those - remember Marten's dad's wedding party?). Everyone is going to like her without glasses and, as with Clinton, the fact that she wore them is going to be quietly forgotten.

Maybe Claire will get more attention and even more interviews without them, reminding us that people are essentially shallow in decision-making. I'm sure it is possible to make a running joke about no-one recognising Claire when she's wearing her contacts instead of her glasses.

Farideh:
Dale, Penelope, and Faye wear glasses and have successfully operated the coffee machine for years. Claire will figure it out.

Near Lurker:
He's never been in a relationship?
