I haven't been playing long enough to have meaningful opinion. By the time I discovered the game, it had already been acquired by the New York Times. That article has heavy ageing hipster vibes: "I was into <thing> before you'd ever heard of it, and it used to be better." This question should be readily answered by statistical analysis, which I am quite certain the author has not performed.

So, over my lunch break I:

* "Printed" this entire thread to a text file.
* Grepped out the Wordle nnn n/n lines to another text file and converted it into a .csv format.
* Loaded it into some of my statistical tools.There is possibly a very slight improvement in our collective average performance since the beginning of the thread, but it's below the level of statistical significance. As always, there are caveats:

* It's a small sample, both in terms of the number of data points, and the number of individuals taking part in the thread.
* Following on from that, the small number of players might simply be getting better at the game rather than the game getting easier.You can take the girl out of statistics, but you can't take the statistician out of the girl. But remember that it is easier to grep something than to grok it.
