i used to play NWN.  maybe if i had found a decent NWN-mud to play on i'd still be playing it, but instead i started playing with a group of friends who instead of wanting a mud-like environment wanted a dnd-style "get together once a week to play" type thing.  they'd keep the server up when we weren't playing, so i'd muck about by myself & wouldn't really have the right schedule to meet up with them on the game day.  but when i did they'd all wonder why i was so goddamn powerful.

oh gee, i don't know.  maybe it's because i'd been killing things and getting items and selling what i didn't need, then buying stuff i did need.  y'know, adventuring?

looking back i can see that our methods of play differed greatly, and i guess that that was one of the main reasons why i didn't feel like playing when they created a new world.
