Willie Williams- "Armageddon Time"

This is some good, classic-style reggae in the vein of Toots & the Maytals and all those guys.  Soild. 8/10

Chisel- "Citizen of Venus"

My first thought listening to the beginning of this song was "hm, it kinda reminds me of Ted Leo. Even the singer. Hey wait, that is Ted Leo, isn't it?" So that's why the band name was familiar.

The rhythmic guitar line has caught me in a good mood for rockin' out. Some interesting layering going on, especially towards the end, and I am a complete sucker for vocal harmony, even brief counterpoint and wordless yelps.

I might be just imagining it, but I think Leo's got a bit more of the emopunk whine going on than in his later stuff, though I can live with it, and the lyrics are defiant without ever approaching whine, so thumbs up there.
Plus there's a mention of South Bend. I used to live less than 30 miles away from South Bend. Arbitrary, but awesome.

Basically this is vintage Ted Leo, which means it rocks pretty solidly.
