Jean Leloup - La Pluie
I dig the french... omg how would i categorize this... indie/funk?
About two thirds of the way through the first listen I was totally ready to turn it off and never listen to it again... I just finished the second and am strangely hypnotized. I love the nonsense bits (dont hurt me! i dont know french!) '"laleelala'leela eat that bear express' (i mock because i'm ignorant!)
Now, seriously to the review. Its got some serious groove to it, and i had google translate the page - i think its kinda sad... and from the vocal bridge just after halfway through the song and near the end, with its own emotion... I dunno. It seems dancable, its nice and funky... i love the prominent base and the wahwah pedal... its... so funky! ANYways
Its so wierd... and french... and funk... and... ahh... so wierd! but wierd in a good way.
5.5/10 For accessibility
It hit me as cool but kinda repetitive... and... i dunno, this is just how I saw it.
6.5/10 For musical value
Somehow I think I love this song... i don't know... it just gets better as I listen to it more... I think i'm being assimilated into the <whatever the french version of borg would be>
8/10 For pure enjoyment value
Overall I'd say 7 out of 10.
