Iron & Wine's "Woman King" EP
ayePod:
I got the vinyl about a week ago and havent stopped listening to it. Definetly my favourite of the year so far.
dontstaylong:
i reviewed it for my college radio station... of course, ripped it to my comp as well.
decent, though i think my favorite I&W stuff is the lo-fi sounding early material. hi-fi folk music just sounds odd to me.
i prefer the pretty melodies over the almost tribal sounds of some of the stuff on this new ep. though, damn... it's cool to hear electric, DISTORTED guitar on the last song. makes it sound evil as hell.
Outshined:
Ok, so I'm a little late in finally hearing this band... finally went out and got "Our Endless Numbered Days" today. I've gotta say I was fairly pleased with it... his voice was like hearing someone whispering to you from a past age. I felt myself wishing he'd "cut loose" a little bit more on some songs where that kind of thing is appropriate, but maybe that's just the way this particular style works. Still, my initial impression is overwhlemingly good.
yipjumpmusic:
Already have it and like it...though not sure if I got it before or after this thread was made...well, before I read it at least :P
Jeridus:
I bought it, having read jeph's revue... and it's fucking awesome... jezebel is one of my favourite songs, for sures
