They play terrible live, they don't have incredible musical talent, and the lyrics are never incredible. But goddam do I love Cake. They just go to show that all you really need to make a band is the ability to work together. I know it sounds corny, but it's true.
And I personally thought Comfort Eagle was lots of fun. Even if it wasn't a terrific album.

I'd like Cake more if my roommate hadn't burnt me out on them by listening to that band nonstop all the time =P.
By the way, very nice avatar, La Creme. The Sandman is one of my favorite comics.
