Radiohead - Paranoid Android (particularly the video)

John Lennon - Imagine (Yes..I've been hearing the APC version)
Will post more if I think of them
Praeserpium Machinarum:
Nearly all of Interpol's songs are depressing, take PDA or NYC( where he sings "I had seven faces/but I knew which one to wear/and I sick of spending these lonely nights/training myself not to care") and tell me if you are not ready to kill yourself by then.
As mentioned Radiohead is also depressing/extremely pessimistic, with Wolf at the Door and the Gloaming etc.
there is a awesome danish band called Kitty Wu, who despite the name actually is a dark and ominous rockband*, who at times makes you believe that there is no hope at all. As with Interpol, it as good as all their songs that are like that fx. Eva Braun, rule nr. 9 and Customer etc.
You can hear some of it at their website http://www.kittywu.com/
* without screaming or being loud for loud's sake
Wildonnie:
Yeah, Stone Temple Pilots - Creep is depressing. So is Pearl Jam's Black. I prefer the Live version with Aaron Lewis singing.
I try to usually get songs that are slower in tempo, and as few instruments as possible. I like it when the band/singer let's his voice tell you what's f-ed up in his/her life.
Evanescence - My Immortal
Don't like the song much, but it's pretty damn depressing.
amok:
The Smiths, Asleep
Joy Division, New Dawn Fades
Anathema, Underworld
Radiohead, How To Disappear Completely (I actually cannot listen to this if I'm even slightly upset because it completely destroys my mood)
Porcupine tree, Stop Swimming (music to kill yourself to)
Katatonia, Chrome is the very definition of 'bleak'

Good call! Although I guess you could nominate a lot of their material, really... all of the Sear Me songs are quite sad (especially MCMXCIII).
