I'd like to agree with Alexisonfire and MCR being far away from emo. I'm not really sure you can say they have their own genre though, as I remember MCR sounded like bad pop-rock (I hasten to add, I have nothing against pop-rock per se), and my flatmate played me an Alexisonfire album and it was very 'metal band with wonky singing bits and a lack of originality no.100689'. As my friend Ewan says: 'I like metal, and I like cheesy pop. But I don't see the need to combine them'. Maybe I should give MCR another listen though, perhaps I've had them all wrong if you reckon they're so ahead of the game.

Heard it once, couldn't find the remote to turn it off...by the end of it I wanted to try to kill myself again :S
