MilkmanDan:
Yeah, it's a bummer. Still, a nice twist. It's not often that the protagonist dies at the end. Just imagine if Hollywood had made it!

In other news, G5 powerbook is unlikely to happen any time soon, but the G4 will be fine for your wants.

im really hesitant to buy it as money is tight and im scared that th new model might come out within even 6 months and my current one would be lower in price, or the newer one would have significantly more power for the price i paid.  eh im kinda paranoid.

id like to achieve 40fps on WoW on my next machine.

comictimes:
you kinda have to just go and buy it (although preferably shortly after a new version is released) when you're getting a computer. Because, think about it, computers are being upgraded constantly. I can't remember who made it, but there's a "law" (as in scientific law- like the law of gravity) that computers double in speed an average of every 18 or 24 months. so just go and buy whatever computer you want, and don't worry about new versions.

And as for whether the next version of the powerbooks will be able to do what you said well... I do all of those things on my powerbook, and it's a 1.25ghz G4, so you'll be just fine.

DavidGrohl:
The current Powerbook G4s will be enough to do the things you'd like to do, processer power-wise.  The only thing that demands power on your list is World of Warcraft.  For that the processor will be plenty, you'll need about a Gigabyte of RAM, 1028, actually.   Anyways, then you'll need a decent graphics card.  On the www.apple.com you can customize your order I believe.  Choose the more expensive graphics card, and you should be golden.

Phrozen:
I have an ibook G4 with 512 ram. It plays WoW but not so well. My friend plays on a powerbook G4 and says its acceptable until his hands start burning.

Personally, I think these things aren't made to handle the abuse, get something a wee bit bigger.
