this evening I will be going to a place where some probably crappy local bands will be playing, but I will only be there for the free (with admission) food and beer.

Oerdin, that's an insane line up. Kasabian puts on a good show; I saw them at Bowery Ballroom a while ago and had a great time.
I'm not going to any shows this week (stupid job . . . .) but I did just buy tix to see Shins & The White Stripes at Coney Island at the end of September. Like, just a minute ago. Best $100 spent EVAR.
