How can i convince my dad to let me...
Fabio:
My dad wont let me get guild wars on his computer because he says he doesnt want viruses and bugs but i must have that game. Boy is he stuburn...
Sideways:
Sounds like my Dad when I was a teenager.
The only answer is: get your own computer.
Really, there's no other way. Ask if you can use his internet connection, and get yourself your own computer.
They're not that expensive right now. You can get something that would handle Guild Wars NICELY for around $800.00 (CDN). You could probably build your own for less too.
Inanimate Object:
The Guild Wars requirements aren't that high. You can probably build or find a PC that can handle it for under a couple hundred dollars. I've seen PCs on craigslist.org that would run it for around $100-150.
Sideways:
True enough.
I've priced out a low-end system (in CDN$) which will still handle Guild Wars well:
Tower - $40.00
Motherboard - $75.00
Hard Drive - $85.00
Memory - $69.00
Sound Card - $35.00
Video Card - $80.00
DVD/CD ROM - $65.00
So under $500.00. Not bad.
Switchblade:
Option 1: Leave home. Your parents obviously don't love you. Leave home and sell yourself as cheap labour on the streets. Waste the money on heroin. Die young. That'll show 'im.
Remember kids: running away from home and doing drugs are NOT COOL. The above was sarcasm.
Option 2: Shut up and put up. It's just a game, man. I'm quite happy without a copy of guild wars (my connection's too slow for online play to really be a feasible right now) So why can't you be? Just spend the money you would have spent on the game on something else - a couple of CD's or DVD's, another game, some cool T-shirts or shoes or something...
Option 3: Buy, build or otherwise acquire a computer. This could be expensive, so try a little dumpster-diving downtown first, just to see if any of the big companies are chucking out PC's and/or laptops that you can scavenge and call your very own.
