Anyone as exited as I am at the prospect of a new Pixies album, I was a bit meh at Bam Thwok, but it grows and is actually a fun song.

Seriously,  no.  The Pixies were good 10 years ago.  Their music is still relevant now.  But the band themselves are a bunch of washouts.

I don't really forsee anything good coming of this.  The Catholics and The Breeders were neither particularly good, and pretty much rode on the Pixies' coattails (given, Cannonball was an awesome song, but most of the rest of that album was trash, and Pod wasn't much better, and nothing by the Catholics was particularly notable), so really, none of the band has produced anything significant in the last 15 years.  If you've seen them on their most recent set of tours, you'd also know that they really don't play too well together anymore, they can hold a tune fine, but their playing is pretty much wooden.  Do I think they have another album in them of Surfer Rosa/Doolittle caliber?  No, I think they're pretty much spent.

The album is not out, and you're lambasting it?


anyways, I'm not going to argue musical taste.

I'm INCREDIBLY pleased by this.
