Dude, i was just looking at that list of the songs he listens to most often.  He really likes David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust.  Which, btw, is one of the BEST songs EVER.

Jeph is God.

Now, anybody wanna talk about David Bowie?

Off-topic: Jeph is not God, however he sounds like a nice chap.

Anyway the only Bowie I have listened to is Heathen and some of his hits. The album wasn't really that interesting, it seemed like he couldn't sing anymore, not that he was ever a "great" singer but he was almost quavering. I didn't like that and besides the cd was fucked(I lent it on the Library). On the contrary, I like his hits, Man Who Sold the World, Life on Mars? and others, quality stuff. Maybe I should get something with him, any suggestions?

What WOULD God listen to? Would it be ironic if he hated christian music?

There's a guy on the Purdue forums whose username is "G.O.D."

From what I remember, he listens to Linkin Park, and other angsty bands.

G.O.D. has terrible taste in music.

Well hell.

I'd hoped god would listen to something good.

Wonder what satan listens to?

Hmm... You're right, Khar.
Sounds like it'd be just up Beelzebub's alley.

But what would lesser imps and demons listen to? Wouldn't satan ban listening to the Dwarves for anyone but himself?

Angels, we mustn't forget angels.  What would they listen to?  A ska offshoot that had lots of harps and was super-heavy on trumpets, but no trombones or saxophones?

The Polyphonic Spree?

I haven't actually heard them, it's just that... well, everything I've read about them sort of... um.

I've always imagined angels as listening to a lot of trance and classical/dance fusion stuff like Hybrid. The cherubim probably listen to, like, DJ Sammy, but the Seraphim are probably more underground, and spend most of their time searching out obscure trance records and chairing liason committees with hell about just what they're going to do with Cliff Richard when they get their hands on him.

How about shoegaze?
Stuff like Cocteau Twins, Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine.

I could see angels floating about jamming to that.

There's also definitely some totally misunderstood angels who float around listening to Stryper, Creed and Horde and considering whether they might just hop down to the eternal fire and listen to some decent shit.

I like the idea of them listening to the Polyhonic Spree.  It IS a little angelic, really saccharine-sweet.

the trance thing, i'm not sure about.  I'd never imagined them as listening to trance.  Ever.

Angels listen to They Might Be Giants.

God listens to post-rock. Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions In The Sky mostly. He also digs Spoon and is an avid Eels fan.

Satan is into Primus and Fantomas over almost all else. He listens to a lot a black metal and 70's Miles Davis stuff too.

All the divine beings are bound by their love for Oingo Boingo.

I'm pretty sure the music in hell is done by Coldplay and Deerhoof.

God listens to Dead Kennedys.

Nah, your vision of Hell is too literal and dualistic.

On my gravestone I'm going to have a Skyclad quote:

"I party on in Acheron!"

Clearly "God" listens to black metal (cause hes fed up the angels singing sweetly, and people licking his arse).

The Devil listens to Christian Rock and J-pop cause he's soo depressed he needs cheering up. Its hard work shoving that pineapple up Hitler's bum.

So satan makes his minions listen to the 6-7-8-9's?  Sounds plausible.

This is a meaningless debate, since there is no god, but if there *was*, I'd have to agree with the Polyphonic Spree being on the top of his list.

No offense, but that seems a bit of a silly thing to say!  It's a bit like going into a thread called "recipe for the best egg salad evar!!!" just to say "I despise egg salad in all its forms!"

Having said that, I do agree with you (and others); God would listen to The Polyphonic Spree, 24/7.
As should we all.

I dunno about constantly lisltening to the Polyphonic Spree, but they certainly are a very good band.

Yeah, that egg salad comparison thing was pretty effective.
