Merkava:
The Roots
Common
A Tribe Called Quest
Mos Def

...and a whole lot of stuff you guys mentioned.

saturnine1979:
Busdriver - has a ridiculous flow. Clever lyrics, too.
Cool Calm Pete - Asian rapper from NYC. Good stuff.
Edan - Hip Hop historian. Uses samples from 70's stuff to make brilliant collages of sound. See: Beauty And The Beat
MC Paul Barman - sort-of goofy white rapper. humorous.
Northern State - Female Beastie Boys. DAMN good. Check out Dying In Stereo.
Prefuse73 - Surrounded By Silence is good, but Prefuse73 Reads The Books EP is fucking AMAZING.

Skibas_clavicle:
The Black Sea. I was impressed. Definately worth a listen, but I'm sure someone mentioned them already and I just missed it!

Merkava:
I'd also like to say that I actually like Kanye West. Attack me if you must, but I find his soulful production (especially on Common's latest) to be very endearing.

MilkmanDan:
Most people diss his solo efforts, and rapping. He's a good producer, and I think most people agree. His production on Be is pretty kick ass.
