Personally, I can't care all that much about "Voltron," since all they did was take two Japanese shows, remove all the stuff that made them cool (like the violence) and dub them into cheesy English. the animal Voltron was originally Centibestial King GoLion. The title, by the way, is a pun — the Japanese were knew English enough to know the word "go," which in Japanese also means "five." (And in Japanese, there is no difference between plural and singular) So GoLion could translate either as Five Lions or as Go! Lions! The vehicle Voltron, meanwhile, came from a show called Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.
