Members of AFI and Offspring are good friends. Offspring covered Total Immortal off of All Hallows for the Me, Myself and Irene soundtrack. If I'm not mistaken, they knew eachother growing up.

I personally think that early to mid AFI sounds more like they are trying to be The Misfits more than Offspring though.

The All Hallows EP always used to be (and, indeed, is) my favourite AFI release. Short and pretty sweet.
