Inlander:
I've seen some great gigs in the last year, since moving down to Melbourne (live music capital of Australia!).  I think the best one was seeing Darren Hanlon supported by Jens Lekman - so good I went back again the next night.  Also, going to a local bar every week for a month to see a band called Vulgargrad, and watching as the audience just grew and grew and grew week by week, was amazing - by the end of the month they were in residence, you could hardly get in the door because the place was packed to the gills with people going wild to crazy Russian music.

Also, in my wallet right now I have tickets for Architecture in Helsinki on Friday and the Mountain Goats in September.

ebullientsoul:
The last two shows I saw were Hot Hot Heat and Planes Mistaken For Stars. Both groups killed it.

In different ways, obviously. But still.

The Texas Hero:
I've been to quite a few shows...way to many to list. So i'll just rattle off the top five shows i've seen.

1- Against Me! this past may. blew me away with the energy they had.
2- Bright Eyes a couple years ago. wasnt really a big fan, but they gave me goosebumps.
3- Bruce Springsteen this past april. I dont remember blinking the entire show hah.
4-Atmosphere at warped tour two years ago.
5- Is a tie between every 30footfall Show i've ever been to, and every time i've seen astronautalis rap. both are just amazing. Astronautalis probably should be higher on this list.

The only band I was e ver really let down by was alkaline trio. They where just so meh.

La Creme:
Since summers start:

The Bad Plus, which may be the greatest concert I've ever been to. I was right next to the drummer. Who is a mother fucking genius. Ok, they all are. If they come to your town, see them. I'm really serious. Even if you've never heard of them. They play a fucking amazing show.

Spoon. Classy, loud, very crowd pleasing, and in a friggin' awesome club. Plus they played Jonathan Fisk all fast and shit and it rocked like fuck.

Eels w/ Strings. After having seen the first show on the tour, I decided "Fuck it, I'll see the last too." And by golly dang gosh was it worth it. Over 2 and a half hours long, with 3 encores, the last one involving a 15 minute jam on "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues". It also firmly established the Eel known as The Chet as one of my favorite people in the universe.

So far, summer shows are good.

SeanBateman:
I am going to see Avril Lavigne thursday night. I am very excited. I will let you know how it is.
