ComfortEagle:
the songs and bands had spaces between them, but i guess that got botched when i posted.

Inlander:
I've found when posting in the past that any more than a double space gets automatically deleted.

sp2:
First of all, you should put the band name first, then a hyphen, then the song title.  Like this:

The Descending Testicles - Jerk Off on the Flag

Second of all, what you put together wasn't a mixtape.  It was a poorly hashed-together amalgam of songs you like.  These things are not the same.  I mean, shit, I could put together one of those in a couple minutes.  In fact, I will.

There.

I made a mix.  Hot damn, that's awesome.

Or.....not.

A mix takes a lot more than just throwing a bunch of songs together.  You should go into the mix with a theme that all songs should adhere to.  You could make a summertime mix and have lots of summery songs (The Breeders - "Cannonball" for example).  You could make a dreaming mix and have lots of songs about dreams or sleep (The Weakerthans - "Prescience of Dawn" and The Arcade Fire - "Rebellion (Lies)" for example).  You could make a "fuck dirty hippies" mix and include songs like California Uber Alles by the Dead Kennedys.  I mean, really, the possibilities are endless.

Not only that, but you should try to keep the tracklist assembled in such a way that it feels like one coherent body of work, the mixtape, rather than a bunch of singles randomly thrown together.  You shouldn't follow up Sigur Ros with The Epoxies.  It just doesn't work.  You can have both on the same mix, but you should space them apart, and have some songs that transition between the two, so it's not a sudden shock when you go from something slow and atmospheric to fast poppy synthpunk.

Also, one song per artist per mix.  I don't care if you love the shit out of Cake, throwing two Cake songs on a mix is a no-no.

Also, if there's a song that you damned well MUST HAVE, then use that to determine the theme for the mix.  Don't just toss it in haphazardly and say "well, it makes me happy."  That's just lazy.

Now that I have officially ruined this thread, does someone want to go get me a sandwich?

Inlander:
No, but I WILL be a prat and say that "Saints" is a better summer-time Breeders song than "Cannonball".

KharBevNor:
Also, isn't it 'All Along the Watchtower'?

I personally prefer Dylan's version. This makes me wierd apparently. But I just love Dylan.

I vote we make this a thread about mix tapes in general!

I made this one mainly to terrorise people. There's still a copy lying round the common room at school I think. It's rather prominently (and truthfully) labelled 'pop and dance':

E Nomine - Mitternacht
Angelspit - Nurse Grenade
The Cure - Killing an Arab
:wumpscut: - Soylent Green [Extended Version]
KMFDM - A Drug Against War
Lords of Acid - Out Comes the Evil
Zombina and the Skeletones - Nobody Likes You (When You're Dead)
Skinny Puppy - Grave Wisdom
Dan Swano - Nothing
Gothminister - Devil (Icon of Coil Remix)
Neuroticfish - The Bomb
Cradle of Filth - From the Cradle to Enslave [Under Martian Rule Remix]
Ministry - Every Day is Halloween
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
XIII.Stoleti - Bela Lugosi's Dead [Industrial Dance Version]
Wolfsheim - Approaching Lightspeed
