I like him a lot; less so when he's solo, though.  I just bought The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.

His Ben Folds Five stuff was brilliant, probably because those other two musicians were the only thing keeping old Ben from going off the deep-end.

Kind of like the members of At the Drive-In now in Sparta. :P

Did you know they just found his brother's body on Nanga Parbat?

I heart Ben Folds majorly. Ben Folds Five was awesome too. Either on his own, or with the band, i dont care. Love him love him love him. Im trying to figure out a way to go see his show 3 hours from here in october, but with gas prices so ridiculous, its not looking so favorable :-( .

Ben Folds Five were the first band i really 'got into', so their albums will always be important to me (and they still sound great when I dig them out). Less struck by Ben's solo efforts; Rockin' the Suburbs was good but overproduced, but the new one just seems a little uninspired and pedestrian.

I have a few Ben Folds five albums I heard some of his songs from Songs for Silverman. Its ok but doesn't have the strength of his (their) earlier work.
