Favourite Artist Discovery?
Merkava:
My dad and sister always played The Talking Heads around the house. That dramatically changed my perception on lead vocals. I prefer trebely, wobbly vocals...unless it's Conor Oberst. He sucks. :P
SpacemanSpiff:
North of America, hands down, because this band basically made me listen to bands like Pavement, Shellac, June of 44 and so on.
Also, the way I discovered them was nice: I saw a video on now dead alternative music video station (yes, we actually had that for some time, it was awesome). But even there, there odds of seeing a NoA video were slim. I liked it and remember the name but couldn't find any of their CDs. Then, about 2 years later, I saw one of their CDs in a store and decided to buy it. It turned out to be their worst album too, but it was good enough to make me buy the other albums and see them live (about that time, they were also touring Germany). Hooray!
SeanBateman:
My godfather sent me Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Ryan Adam's-Gold, and the eels-Souljacker for my 13th birthday. Those are now my 3 favorite bands.
eepedeep:
AC Newman from Jeph

--- Quote from: KharBevNor ---Ended up with all their stuff. Despite my best efforts I've only managed to buy a single album. Fucking obscurity.
--- End quote ---
I checked them out in a Virgin one day (i think it was the big on in Picadilly Circus) and they had 6 different albums from Skyclad...
