I would say this is my song of the last few months.  Sorry if the quality is suboptimal...someone sent me an mp3 copy which I burned to CD, but I later lost the mp3, so this is an AAC rip.  It is, however, the only recording I've ever been able to find since it's not out on any albums yet.

The Avett Brothers - The Lowering (A Sad Day in Greenville Town)

Yes, it's the source of my username.  Yes, it is incredibly beautiful and sad.  Yes, the rest of their music is just about this awesome too.  I had the chance tto see them play a TINY little club near Chicago, and I was more blown away by the energy coming from 3 acoustic instruments than I have been by any other live performance, regardless of the number of amplifiers involved.

"Buffalo Stance" by Neneh Cherry has been running through my head for the past week.

My song of the moment pretty much changes every few hours so I may well whore this thread like there's no tomorrow until I get my face punched in for copyright infringement.

Anyway, for the moment, enjoy Addiction to Self Mutilation from the "Teen Angst" EP by M83, one of the weirdest and most exciting bands I've got into recently.

Gorilla Biscuits - Start Today, because if you haven't heard of this band, you, uh, have now.

Actually, I even have something I could call "my song" because it fits perfectly in many ways.

North of America - Every Mirror We Broke Was A Black Cat

Weird? Maybe. Awesome band? Most definitely.

And Weevil: Thanks to you I've finally listened to a song by Gorilla Biscuits. Go you!

This has always been my song since the moment my best friend told me it reminded him of me because of my beautiful sad green eyes (and the fact that i was going through a rough time then)

A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras

It's pretty easy to find and I cant be bothered to link it

Here's my song of the moment. It combines two of my main obsessions: Bowie and indie rock.

The Arcade Fire and David Bowie -  Wake Up (live)

I'm mildly ashamed to admit that I found this through Sarah Lewitinn's blog.

Skyclad - Fainting by Numbers

This song is the first one I listen to if I need music to really cheer me up. Great, rebellious, highly lyrical folk metal.

MY song for like the last few moths has been Nihlism by The Max Levine Ensemble. It's just ridiculously amazing.

you can also download it via Purevolume or Bit Torrent

It was the song I would play over and over last year.... Now I just stick to Jack Johnson and such.

Except the way the next track's Spirit Fingers. I wouldn't have put that upbeat kind of track inbetween two really reflective ones.

And back on topic; The track that's probably a better description of the past few months: [/unsubtle]Ben Lee - Begin[/unsubtle]

Track 2 on there, but you could have worked that out.
