Gay cowboys!
Nettle:
I just looked it up on imdb... and I would watch it, but it sounds like it's sad. I mean, i wasn't expecting a HAPPY movie, particularly with the time period it's set in, but i hate watching love stories where things end badly... movies that make me cry just aren't my cup of tea. Unless i'm home alone and not going to be interrupted.

--- Quote from: katesie ---lol. i want to see it due to the leading men. i feel so shallow upon saying this, but heath ledger and jake gyllenhaal...... wow. they are like the cutest actors ever. :) kissing, possibly. lol. nice...
lol. but saying that though feels so much like hearing crazy fangirl freshman at my school, and the comparison makes me feel silly for wanting to see it. "OMG OMG OMG HEATH AND JAKE OMG OMG I WANT TO DIE!!11!!!"

Nobody will blame you. Heck, I wanna see it for the same reason.

Hear, Hear! (or is it here, here? I'm too tired to remember...) Guy on Guy is Hot, and that is a good enough reason to see any movie.
And don't feel shallow. Lately I've been having a hard time paying attention in movies without hot guys. *sweatdrop* (well, unless they're really interesting) So I should feel shallow. Not you.

RUMBLEMOOSE:
"Brokeback Mountain" was originally a short story by E. Annie Proulx, which was extremely good but yes, sad. Like, heartbreaking sad. I mean, it's tough to imagine gay cowboys in Wyoming going any kind of positive direction, what with homophobia and all, but add into that that Proulx is a really good writer and yeah.
The funny thing about Ang Lee directing is that I keep seeing posters saying "Director of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon," which totally makes me think of fight scenes. Cowboys aren't exactly built for speed, folks, so hopefully Lee will tone it down a little bit. The fight scene is kinda clumsy and brutal, and I can't imagine Lee will make it anything less.
I remember staring at the poster in the theater lobby thinking, "wha...?" for like an hour when I first saw it. Hollywood putting out a gay cowboy film? Refreshingly unexpected or unexpectedly refreshing.
Not An Addict:
--- Quote from: zerofiftysix ---I'm sure under the eye candy and guy-guy action there is an intense plot and interesting story that explores the concept of love existing in a non-mainstream way. I am sure that BrokeBack Mountain will dazzle audiences as well as destroy the hetrosexual hegemony of modern cowboyry.
I just want to see them two hotties kissing, period.
