Johnny C:
Having bought Silent Alarm Remixed (and having loved it), I'm wondering on what you guys think of remix collections / remixed albums, and what some of your favourite remix albums are. Discuss!
Inlander:
Mad Professor's No Protection is a classic, and it's a hell of a lot more interesting than the album it remixes (Protection by Massive Attack).
Garcin:
Particularly enjoyed Jazzanova's Remixes, Verve Remixes, and some of the DJ Kicks serious on the K7 label (particularly Smith & Mighty's).
Like most people, I think, I was originally turned off remix albums by a lot of the duds that bands pawn off on their fanbase when the next album isn't forthcoming, but these awesome nu-jazz and electro albums renewed my faith.
Luke:
Linkin Park's remix album of Hybrid Theory is really good when you compare it to the original album. Then they went and released Meteora...
AT LEAST THEIR LYRICS HAVE MEANING AND DEPTH, LOL
Spirit Stereo:
the new sufjan remixes album is good.
