Unexpectedly good movies
Everest:
I went to the movie theater with a few friends last night, and we didn't really know what to see; nothing we more or less anticipated was showing. So on a whim, we went to see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, starring Robert Downey Jr, Val Kilmer, and a breathtakingly beautiful Michelle Monaghan (never heard of her before but DANG!). Damn what a good choice for a random movie on a boring Monday night. Good characters, snappy conversations, hilarious situations... Just the right atmosphere. Good movie, I'd advise everyone to go see it for themselves were it not that it's probably one of those movies you have to accidentally walk into to find it as good as I do.
To further elaborate this thread, so that it doesn't become a waste of space: has anyone other unexpectedly good movie experiences they'd like to share? Then share! :)
Tedd:
Every Kevin Smith movie evar. Except for Jersey Girl. And Chasing Amy. Okay, just Jersey Girl.
GebStar:
I was told Chasing Amy was pretty good.
I haven't had a chance to watch it, i've only seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks....and did he do Dogma? but i even that i can't remember much of.
Personally, Oceans Eleven surprised me, i hate George Clooney, and a friend of mine wants to fellate brad pitt every day, and because of him i was aprehensive of it. I liked it though, it made me laugh.

I quite enjoyed Ocean's 11, but then I am a sucker for a good heist movie. I haven't seen 12, though, 'cause everything I've heard about it has said that it's awful.
Another unexpectedly good movie, I found, was most recent version Peter Pan. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would (and far more than I probably should've).
GebStar:
^
I cried in Peter Pan, i cried like a little bitch.
I was surprised by it too.
