I wouldn't call AFI punk plus I prefer their older, pre MTV stuff. I meant things like Green Day, MCR, The Used etc. I've never seen AFI on TV here in NZ so I'm using the MTV metaphor so others could get it, if I started talking about C4 everyone would think explosives...
Besides, AFI have a whole lot more musical talent than these other bands. Try listening to Dancing Through Sunday and tell me that ain't talented.

I don't like Pavement or Sonic Youth, I can tolerate some of the better ones to come out of it, new White Stripes is quite good but shit like Blindside, The Vines, Kings Of Leon etc, just bugs me. You know, the saviours who made one album and disappeared. At least White Stripes and Franz, while mediocre, have shown some progression in their music.

Also, I woulda totally put, for example, Kanye West, Buck 65, and some other hip-hoppin' daddioes on my list of teh goodz but man is five artists ever limiting.
