Anyone Like Porcupine Tree?
Bishop:
My friend lent me a load of their albums for a while and he is borowing some of my redhot chili peppers early stuff and I'm really loving "Recordings" its apparently rare so I hope I can get my hands on it in the shops.
Does anyone else like PT and can you advice me on any other traks/albums to ask to borrow?
Station:
I recently acquired a ton of their albums, but I've really only listened to Stupid Dream and In Absentia. I recommend Stupid Dream, especially the songs Even Less and Pure Narcotic.
ObsoleteDonkey:
I'm a huge fan. Suggesting albums can be really hard because Porcupine Tree have covered so much ground since their first album. However, since you're enjoying "Recordings", I would recommend asking to borrow "Lightbulb Sun". "Recordings" is mostly B-side material from the Lightbulb Sun era. My next suggestion would be to check out "Stupid Dream", the album before Lightbulb Sun, as some of the material from "Recordings" stems from that era (namely the full version of Even Less on the "Recordings" album). And then after you've checked out "Stupid Dream", look into "In Absentia". That's the album released after "Lightbulb Sun".
And as a bit of a side note, move backwards through the Porcupine Tree discography if you're a fan of "prog" material, and move forward in the discography if you're more a fan of a rock or metal sound. Hope that helps you.
Duchess Tapioca:
What he said. My favorite was their first album, but you can't really ask people to reccomend stuff for you unless you said what you liked, cause everything is so differnt. I saw them in concert. They didn't smile. But they played really nice and were... organized.
Bishop:
I bought In Absentia and its really good and another load of people said Lightbulb sun is really good :D so I'm looking out for that.
